Job Title:   Institutional Fixed Income Sales & Trading
Status:       Full-Time

SUMMARY

U.S. Sterling Securities Inc. is in the process of hiring an individuals who will focus on developing sales opportunities, following up on leads, opening new accounts, and building relationships with existing accounts. Individual must be able to identify and have an understanding of client’s financial needs and fulfill those requirements by utilizing the firm’s in-house resources. Individual should be able to identify opportunities to sell a variety of the firms services being offered throughout different departments. Candidates with existing books and clientele are given priority.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Introduce the firm’s variety of products and services to accounts and prospects.
  • Follow up on and make progress with the assigned database of potential leads.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing clientele.
  • Demonstrate great attention to detail.
  • Utilize the sales support and marketing material that is generated to build relationships with account leads.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to analyze and understand fixed income securities as well as other financial products, capital markets, interest rates, contracts, and disclosures.
  • Superior communication skills, such as verbal, written, and negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, energetic atmosphere.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization and time management to effectively follow up on sales related activity.
  • Ability to speak comfortably and effectively to high profile clientele.
  • Understanding of basic bond calculations such as yield, discounting, interest rates, spreads, commissions, amortization etc.
  • Ability to create presentations in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
  • Ability to imply common sense and strategic analysis in problematic situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications which include but are not limited to MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with Bloomberg
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to in-house sales programs such as Proprietary Trade Platform, CRM, Bond Desk, and other programs as needed.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Individual must hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Economics, and/or at least two years of related sales and/or industry experience.
  • Series 7 and Series 63 or Series 66 is mandatory. Series 79 is a plus.
  • Individual with established books is a plus.
